MEET NATALIYA & VLADIMIR TIMOSHEVSKIE

ARGENTINE TANGO

COMING SOON (3).png

Nataliya and Vladimir Timoshevskaya were introduced to Argentine Tango 10 years ago when they lived in Virginia by the local tango enthusiast David Karasiewicz, who sparked a fire. Since then, they have studied from tango masters both local and Argentinian, including Tate Di Chiazza & Karen Jaffe, Marcela Duran, Alejandro Barrientos & Rosalia Gasso, Natalia Grisel Aguero & Agustin Venturino. Nataliya also highly values different aspects of social tango that she learned from hundreds of tango dancers that she met on a dance floor, often travelling to get a new experience to tango festivals, tango marathons and private “encuentro milonguero” events. Vladimir found his passion in Argentine tango music. Fascinated by its long and complex history, rich variety and the perfection of rhythm and melody, he employs his wide knowledge as a tango DJ. In 2018 Vladimir hosted a series of programs on WRFL, Radio Free Lexington, called “Tango Bar”. Tango influenced their everyday life – music, friends, tango community, weekends, holidays – all have become tango centered. With five years of teaching experience behind her, Nataliya’s teaching goal stays the same – to teach the “language” of tango that allows dancers to achieve lucid and sensitive communications between partners who, guided by music, can improvise and create new tango stories each time they dance. Clear body language in turn requires the development of personal balance, understanding of technique and effortless footwork, all achieved through practice. Argentine Tango is a journey. It can be as simple as “hug and walk,” but never reaches an upper limit because the soul of tango is in the connection between people.
